The launch
Brand: Cadbury Celebrations.
Agency: Ogilvy India. The announcement does not name a film director.
Release: Diwali 2026.
Where it runs: An integrated media plan across television, digital, social media and in-store touchpoints.
Cadbury Celebrations has launched its festive campaign around a simple observation: Indian neighbours disagree often, but Diwali can turn those disagreements into a reason to reconnect.
What the film says and how
The film leans into everyday neighbourhood nok-jhok—arguments over parking, shared spaces, pets, late-night parties and compound cricket. It presents Diwali as the natural moment to put those differences aside. A box of Cadbury Celebrations becomes the gesture of goodwill that helps neighbours begin afresh during the festive season.
The tagline, #ThisNokJhokIsSweet, frames the quarrel itself as something worth celebrating, not just resolving.
What the brand and agency say about it
Vinay Subramanyam, vice president – marketing, Mondelez India, said, “Diwali has always been a time to pause, reconnect and celebrate the people around us.” He added that the campaign tries to depict the unique Indian relationship with neighbours—“we bicker, we banter but underneath, there is bonhomie.”
Sukesh Nayak, chief creative officer, Ogilvy India, said, “There’s enough bitterness in the world but a little sweetness has the power to go a long way.” For Nayak, the campaign is about how quickly playful quarrels can melt into warmth when someone makes the first move.
Shekhar Banerjee, president, client solutions, South Asia, WPP Media, framed Diwali as a week of distinct rituals and gifting moments. The media approach, he said, uses the creator ecosystem to turn those moments into seamless, shoppable gift guides.
The category context
Festive gifting is a crowded field, so Cadbury Celebrations is sharpening its portfolio rather than relying on sentiment alone. The new festive range includes:
- New Milky Mithai Squares: Kesar pista flavour.
- Choco Mithai Squares: Crispi rabdi, badam barfi and kesar badam Indian flavours.
- Assorted chocolate packs: Silk Selections, Bournville Selections, Rich Dry Fruit Jars.
- Pricing: Packs start at under Rs 100; premium options span Rs 250 to Rs 575.
The entire festive range is packaged in gold-accented premium design, with entry packs under Rs 100 and premium options spanning Rs 250 to Rs 575. The campaign amplifies the film through television, digital, social media and in-store touchpoints, plus creator-led shoppable gift guides.
What to watch next
Watch whether the shoppable creator gift guides convert Diwali rituals into purchases at the premium end. Also worth tracking is whether the Milky Mithai Squares—chocolate with Indian mithai flavours—give Cadbury Celebrations a distinct reason to be chosen over traditional mithai boxes and other chocolate gifting packs.
The next signal will be in-store and digital response as the brand pushes its premium Rs 250–Rs 575 range during the festival window.
