MarkNext Group, a media, reputation intelligence and communications advisory firm, has appointed Nabeel A. Khan as Group Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief. The dual role gives him responsibility for the group’s global operations and its next set of media ventures.
Khan will lead expansion across India, the Middle East and Africa, and will also shape the editorial direction of a new media platform focused on industry reporting and information-led content.
Two mandates under one leader
As Group CEO, Khan will steer the strategic direction of MarkNext Group’s reputation intelligence, public relations and corporate communications advisory businesses. As Editor-in-Chief, he will lead the launch of an upcoming media platform.
This combination is notable because it ties advisory work to owned media—a structure more communications groups are exploring as clients ask for both strategic counsel and credible industry content.
From newsroom to boardroom
Khan brings more than two decades of experience across journalism and corporate communications. He was the founding editor of The Economic Times Verticals, where he built business media formats and knowledge platforms, and has held senior editorial roles at Network18. He later moved into corporate leadership, most recently as Deputy Vice-President and Head of PR, Communications and Public Affairs at Renault India, and earlier as Country Head – Middle East at Motherson Group.
Credibility as a differentiator
Khan said the media and communications landscape has reached a critical inflection point. The spread of AI and social media has created an overflow of information and rising noise, while “clarity, quality and credibility (CQC) have been pushed to the edge.”
That framing matters for marketing and communications professionals. As content volume grows, audiences may find it harder to separate useful intelligence from noise, and credible reporting becomes a brand asset.
- Brands and agencies need insight-led content that audiences can trust.
- Advisory firms are building owned media to complement earned and paid channels.
- The Middle East, especially Dubai, is emerging as a focus market for tech and innovation-driven communication expansion.
What to watch next
MarkNext Group says it plans to use the Middle East opportunity to build partnerships, strengthen its regional presence and develop integrated media and communications offerings for the corporate sector. The upcoming media platform will be the clearest test of the strategy—and a development worth tracking for marketers who rely on credible industry intelligence.
