Raymond Lifestyle Limited has consolidated its marketing mandate with Publicis Groupe India, ending a two-month search led by the brand’s marketing team. The appointment covers creative, media, performance marketing, CRM, digital, reputation and technology, and will be delivered through a bespoke unit called Team One Thread.
The shape of the new mandate
Team One Thread pulls together Saatchi & Saatchi India, Zenith India and Performics, along with other Publicis companies, so the client gets one integrated team instead of separate agency silos. The leadership sits with Paritosh Srivastava, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi India, BBH India and Propagate India, and Jai Lala, CEO of Zenith India.
The brand house’s portfolio includes ColorPlus, Park Avenue, Parx and Ethnix by Raymond, which means the team will need to manage distinct brand identities while keeping the parent narrative consistent.
Why the pitch was won on capability
Raymond Lifestyle CEO Satyaki Ghosh said the company wanted a partner who shares its passion for the brands and business, and that the marketing team spent two months evaluating the right capabilities. CMO Kalpana Singh put the brief plainly, pointing to an omnichannel world where shopper tastes are changing fast. “Serving the modern shopper requires dexterity, integration, and adoption of AI to inform marketing decisions,” she said.
That shaped a capability-first evaluation. The client looked for clear technical strength across the full channel spectrum, not just a strong creative idea.
What marketers should note
- Integrated pods are becoming the default ask for multi-brand retailers and lifestyle houses.
- AI and omnichannel capability are no longer optional in agency evaluations.
- A structured, marketing-led pitch narrows the field faster than a general agency search.
The move matters because it shows how large Indian consumer brands are buying agency services now: as one connected system, with a single team accountable for everything from brand to performance. For agency leaders, the signal is clear: cross-capability integration and technology fluency are part of the pitch itself.
Singh also thanked existing partners for their contribution to the brands’ growth and recognition, a useful reminder that transitions in large accounts should protect relationships while moving forward.
The pragmatic view
For marketing teams, this is less about a single win and more about a template. If you are running a pitch, define the channel stack and technical requirements before creative ideas are presented, and ask each contender how they will staff one team across disciplines. For agencies, the answer may be a named bespoke pod with co-leads, not a ratecard.
The transition at Raymond Lifestyle will be watched closely, especially how Team One Thread handles four distinct apparel and lifestyle brands and whether the integrated model shortens decision-making, improves consistency and makes AI use measurable.
