A legacy brand can be respected at a dinner table and still lose the wedding-season transaction to a trendier label. PNG Jewellers is targeting exactly that gap with Unstoppable Legacy, a new campaign that puts its two brand ambassadors, Madhuri Dixit and Ranbir Kapoor, in a single TV commercial for the first time.

The film is built around a switch

The spot opens backstage at a show. Ranbir Kapoor says, “We need no introduction, we are old gold,” and Madhuri Dixit follows with a question about staying in millions of hearts. On the surface, the two are discussing their own star power and legacies.

Then the stage reveal flips the subject: the audience realises the conversation has been about PNG Jewellers all along. The brand’s heritage, which goes back to 1832, is positioned not as a fact in the opening frame but as the twist at the end. That is a deliberate creative choice for a label that wants younger viewers to share the film and older viewers to feel their trust reflected back.

One trust anchor, one younger pull

The casting is more than celebrity wattage. Madhuri Dixit gives the campaign continuity and trust, while Ranbir Kapoor extends it to a new generation. Dr Saurabh Gadgil, Chairman and Managing Director of PNG Jewellers, said the pair were the right duo to tell the story as the festive and wedding season begins.

Hemant Chavaan, Head of Marketing, E-commerce, CRM and CSR, put the strategic problem in one line: “A legacy brand’s real risk is being admired and not chosen.” For a brand founded in 1832, recognition was never the issue. The job is conversion.

A media plan that follows the customer

The campaign airs on Star Plus, ET Now, Aaj Tak and Republic Bharat, with YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and connected TV extending the same message to digital audiences. It also appears in theatres and PNG Jewellers stores, giving the film a physical, high-consideration presence near the point of purchase.

Festive offers on gold and diamond jewellery run until November 15, 2026, matching the film’s emotional appeal with a time-bound reason to visit a store.

From admiration to action

Legacy brands often overdress their heritage as nostalgia and hope the past does the selling. PNG’s approach suggests a different sequence: earn attention first, reveal the legacy second, and convert with a concrete offer third.

  • Start with the tension, not the timeline. A brand history works better as a reveal than as an opening claim.
  • Use dual casting as audience architecture. One ambassador can signal trust, the other can signal relevance.
  • Give the campaign a deadline. Festival or wedding windows turn emotion into urgency.

The outcome to watch is whether the film’s shareability translates into store-level demand. If it does, Unstoppable Legacy will have done what every old brand needs: turned a long past into a current purchase.
