JK Maxx Paints has put sustainability at the centre of its newest product story, launching the JK Naturals range with a digital film for its first product, JK Naturals Aura. The interior emulsion arrives first in North India between late October and mid-November, with a planned nationwide rollout to follow. The company has not named an agency or director for the film.
The launch
JK Naturals Aura is the opening product under the new JK Naturals brand, and the company is giving the film a clear job: make eco-friendly paint feel like a considered home upgrade, not a compromise. The product’s sustainability case is built on material choices rather than a single claim. It contains more than 40% eco-friendly content, including over 10% bio-based emulsion.
The formulation also uses recycled PVB, or polyvinyl butyral, recovered from end-of-life laminated glass as a raw material. JK Maxx Paints developed the product with Denmark-based cleantech company Shark Solutions. The paint adds air-purification technology designed to reduce formaldehyde in indoor environments, and the range includes recycled packaging. Buyers will be able to choose from more than 2,000 shades.
The film runs digitally as part of the launch. On the product pack, a QR code invites consumers to scan and take a pledge under the ‘Pledge a Tree’ initiative; the company says it will plant a tree for each online pledge.
What the film says and how
The film treats sustainability as an emotional and aspirational lifestyle story rather than a technical specification. It links the idea of a home to the choices and values of the people who live in it, using JK Naturals Aura as the product that closes the distance between nature and modern living. The pitch is built around premium, thoughtful home beautification; the recycled materials and air-purification claims work as proof points in the background.
That framing matters because eco-friendly products in home improvement have often been positioned as functional or worthy. Here, the brand is trying to attach sustainability to aspiration and everyday choice.
What the brand and agency say about it
Nitish Chopra, business head – White Cement and Paints, said the company has “always focused on developing solutions that respond to the evolving needs of consumers,” and that JK Naturals brings sustainability into the home beautification category. He framed the Shark Solutions collaboration as an effort to explore innovative materials and create products that balance performance with environmental responsibility.
“A home is more than just a living space; it reflects the choices and values of the people who live in it.”
Amandeep Malhari, head of marketing, White Cement and Paints, said the tree-plantation initiative extends that thinking, encouraging consumers to participate in a collective effort toward a greener future. The brand’s position is that sustainability becomes meaningful when it is integrated into products and choices consumers make every day.
The category context
The launch lands at a moment when paint brands are moving sustainability beyond corporate messaging and into product formulation, packaging and post-purchase behaviour. JK Maxx Paints is using a combination of material transparency, indoor-air benefit and a simple consumer action to differentiate JK Naturals Aura in a crowded interior-emulsion market. The bet is that environmental responsibility can be sold as part of home beautification without asking buyers to accept a weaker finish.
By making the first JK Naturals product an interior emulsion with a wide shade range, the company is also signalling that sustainability is not a niche line but a mainstream offer.
