Dentsu India has launched Dentsu Performance Studio, a new practice that places creative at the centre of performance marketing. The studio is positioned as a connected model bringing creative, media and measurement together, rather than offering them as separate services.

The agency has appointed Vidhu Ravinath and Archisman Sarangi as Vice Presidents and Business Heads to lead the practice.

What the studio is designed to do

The new unit plans to operate as a high-volume creative engine, with a stated ambition to produce more than 1,000 creative assets every month. The focus is not just output; Dentsu India is pitching it as Results in a Box — a system that links creative production to measurable business results.

CEO Abhirup Datta framed the move as a response to how performance marketing is changing. “Performance marketing is entering a new chapter,” he said, adding that the winning model will bring creative, media and measurement together to deliver outcomes at scale.

Performance 3.0 and the always-on engine

Ravinath and Sarangi described the shift in sharper terms. They said Performance 2.0 was built around playbooks and teams, while Performance 3.0 requires an always-on engine where every creative decision is informed by performance. The studio brings creative strategy, AI production and media onto a connected data system, with the ambition to become India’s largest performance creative factory.

This matters because performance marketing has traditionally been dominated by media buying and optimisation. Creative was often treated as a separate input. Dentsu’s move reflects a broader industry shift toward treating creative as a variable that can be tested, measured and scaled.

Why it matters for marketers

For marketing teams, the launch signals that performance campaigns will increasingly be judged on how well creative, data and media work together. That has practical implications:

  • Creative testing becomes a continuous process, not a campaign-by-campaign exercise.
  • Asset volume and speed become key capabilities, but only if they connect to outcomes.
  • AI-assisted production needs clear brand and compliance guardrails.
  • Agency evaluations may shift from standalone services to connected systems.

A useful frame is the test-and-learn flywheel: produce creative variants, run them across media, measure response, and feed insights back into the next production cycle. The challenge is that volume alone can create fatigue if creative quality and audience insight are not protected. Dentsu’s connected model is an attempt to solve that by linking AI production with measurement from the start.

What to watch

The next proof point will be whether Dentsu Performance Studio can consistently turn high-volume creative output into better conversion and efficiency for clients. Indian performance marketing is already crowded, and several networks are building similar full-funnel or connected-commerce practices. The differentiator will be execution: speed, measurement integrity, and the ability to keep creative quality from degrading at scale.
