The campaign
Klook has launched ‘Book on Klook’ in the US, created with Sydney independent Supersolid after the agency won Klook’s US business in April following a competitive international pitch. The campaign goes live across the US in early October, with plans to expand internationally. On the client side, Klook’s recently appointed creative director Benjamin Amdur led the work. Supersolid’s Alex Newman and Jonathon Shannon were creative directors, Paul Leaning produced, and Mint Films produced with Andrew Seaton directing.
Client credits also include Klook US commercial executive Luke Miller, director of marketing Hartman Wong and marketing campaign manager Kyle Uraguchi.
What the film says and how
The film turns a familiar travel predicament into a comedic moment. An American traveller facing an impatient Italian train official cannot find his ticket and produces a mountain of paperwork. The tagline, ‘Get Your Travel Right. Klook It.’, positions Klook as the way to cut through that chaos.
The humour leans on anticipation and reveal more than dialogue. The Supersolid and Klook teams explored five variations of the edit before landing the timing. On set, Newman encouraged Amdur to move from the video village into the action, shaping the narrative without disrupting the shoot schedule.
The response so far
Campaign Brief’s early coverage focuses on the working model rather than launch metrics, so there are no audience numbers to report yet. The source highlights the speed and confidence that came from pairing in-house and external creative leaders. Newman says speaking creative to creative removes context building, and Amdur calls the agency’s openness ‘rare’ and says it gave Klook confidence to push the storytelling.
The category context
Travel booking ads often rely on destination shots or price promises. ‘Book on Klook’ instead uses a single comic mishap to sell order, giving Klook a more distinctive way into the crowded US-to-Europe travel market. The film is also built with interchangeable sections for different products, promotions and seasonal messages, allowing Klook to evolve the communication while retaining the central story.
The campaign arrives as brands continue to invest in in-house creative leadership. Newman argues that outside perspective remains essential, because pairing insider knowledge with an external view is where the real impact can happen.
