Wipro has named Kuldeep Sehrawat as Director and Head of Marketing for India, a role that puts an eight-plus-year IBM marketer in charge of the technology major’s domestic marketing agenda.

Sehrawat announced the move on LinkedIn. He joins from IBM, where he spent more than eight years. Most recently, he led marketing for growth, ecosystem and channel across India and South Asia from September 2025 to October 2026.

From IBM ecosystems to a wider mandate

At IBM, Sehrawat’s roles included Ecosystem Marketing Leader, Ecosystem Marketing Manager, Performance Marketing Campaign Leader and Event Marketing Strategist for India. His work spanned marketing programmes, partner engagement and campaigns tied directly to business growth.

That mix is significant for Wipro, where a standalone India marketing head can connect brand-building with measurable demand, especially across partners and channels. B2B technology brands increasingly value leaders who can run ecosystem marketing rather than only campaign calendars.

A career built on enterprise activation

Before IBM, Sehrawat held roles across media, agencies and brand activation. At Times Internet, he was National Head of ET CIO and ET Edge IT and Fintech Industry CXO Programs from October 2017 to August 2018. Earlier, he handled brand activation and corporate marketing communications at Wizcraft International Entertainment.

At Cheil India, he worked on Samsung India’s enterprise business from September 2012 to November 2016, covering advertising, digital activity, product launches, events, trade shows and partner programmes. His earlier roles at Showcraft Marketing Services and Solutions-Digitas Integrated Marketing Services focused on events, activations, exhibitions, roadshows and dealer programmes.

Key stops on his route to Wipro:

  • IBM: More than eight years, ending as Head of Marketing – Growth and Ecosystem, Channel, India and South Asia.
  • Times Internet: National Head, ET CIO and ET Edge IT and Fintech Industry CXO Programs.
  • Wizcraft International Entertainment: Senior Manager, Brand Activation.
  • Cheil India: Associate Account Director, Enterprise Marketing for Samsung India.

The move reflects a familiar requirement in B2B technology: leadership depth across partner ecosystems, performance marketing and field activation. Sehrawat has held brand-side and agency-side roles, which gives him both budget-owner and execution vocabulary.

Why Wipro’s India role matters now

Wipro operates across IT services, consulting and enterprise technology. A dedicated India marketing head signals attention on domestic demand generation, customer engagement and partner co-marketing, not just global brand campaigns. Sehrawat’s career suggests the playbook may lean toward performance campaigns, CXO programmes and channel-led growth.

For enterprise marketers, the takeaway is practical: if your pipeline depends on partners, your marketing organisation needs someone who can design co-marketing that drives measurable pipeline, not just awareness. Chief-marketing-type roles in tech are now won on revenue impact, not campaign volume alone.
