X wants small businesses to go from website link to live ad campaign in minutes, not days. At Advertising Week New York, the company launched X Lift, a set of AI tools inside X Ads Manager that turns a website URL into a finished campaign in a few clicks.

How X Lift works

The workflow is intentionally simple. Advertisers enter their website address, and X Lift’s AI generates a range of ad images and copy while building the full campaign, including targeting. The advertiser then sets a budget, reviews the draft, and can launch immediately. X says this is the first in a planned suite of AI tools to simplify onboarding for smaller businesses, with more tools to follow.

  • Paste a website URL as the campaign brief
  • Let the AI generate images, copy and targeting
  • Set a budget and review the draft
  • Launch and start measuring

Why it matters for SMBs

Manual campaign setup has long been a friction point for smaller advertisers. X Lift removes much of that legwork before a budget is ever committed. For a small business with limited creative and media-buying resources, that is a meaningful shift: the AI drafts creative and targeting at the same time, reducing the time and skills needed just to get a first campaign live.

Monique Pintarelli, Head of Global Advertising at xAI, described the ambition as helping advertisers move “from conversation to conversion” and drive results across the full funnel.

The company is pointing to growth as evidence. Active self-serve advertisers grew 50% in Q3 2026 compared with Q3 2025. X cited giv soft butter, a brand that moved away from third-party marketplace campaigns toward sales campaigns on X. X now accounts for about 75% of that company’s total sales, with recent campaigns delivering more than 4x return on ad spend, according to X.

A wider rebuild of X Ads Manager

X Lift is part of what X describes as the most significant rebuild of its advertising platform in its 20-year history. In June, the platform added a Google Tag Manager integration, a consolidated Conversion API hub, and a real-time conversion diagnostics dashboard inside Ads Manager. The common theme is removing technical barriers: making advanced measurement usable without a developer team.

That matters for small marketing teams, because measurement and setup are often where limited resources get stuck. By automating the build and simplifying attribution, X is positioning itself as a channel where a small team can test without an agency or a data engineer.

What marketers should do

The practical move is to run a small test if you already have a website and a clear offer. Enter the URL, treat the AI output as a first draft, and review copy, creative and targeting before launch. Then use the platform’s conversion diagnostics to see whether the campaign is performing. As more AI tools roll out, the strategic input—offer, positioning, audience insight—becomes the differentiator, not the technical setup.
