Google India has launched a new campaign, “Google Search – Samjhe. Samjhaaye. Raah dikhaye.”, to demonstrate how AI Mode in Google Search helps people work through complex, real-life decisions. The campaign was conceptualised and written by Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, Omnicom Advertising India, and developed by Google India in collaboration with McCann India.
A search bar that acts like a guide
The launch film follows Karan, a young man preparing for competitive exams who dreams of opening his own café but is unsure how to tell his father. He turns to AI Mode in Search and asks not for a single fact, but for a way to approach the conversation and where to begin. Through conversational follow-ups, AI Mode helps him structure a practical plan: understanding the needs of students around him, exploring financing options and building the confidence to have a difficult conversation.
The campaign’s insight is that big everyday moments rarely need one quick answer. People need help structuring their thoughts and exploring options. AI Mode is positioned as that quiet guide: users can ask longer, conversational questions and follow-ups, and get structured responses backed by sources from across the web.
Prasoon Joshi described the creative logic behind the campaign: “when people are stuck, they don’t want information, they want to feel like they are understood.” The spot is the first in a series Google India plans to run around AI Mode.
Why the campaign matters for marketers
For marketing and content teams, this is about more than an ad. It is a visible signal that search behaviour is shifting from keyword lookups to multi-step, conversational queries. That changes what users expect from Search and what brands need to do to show up inside AI-generated answers.
The AI Mode campaign is not a product demo in the traditional sense. It uses an emotional, relatable story to make a technical feature feel human. That is a useful lesson for marketers explaining complex tools: show the outcome, not the interface.
- Search is moving from quick facts to structured, multi-part guidance.
- Users increasingly expect follow-ups and context, not just a single link.
- Brand visibility now depends on being a trusted, citable source for AI Mode.
How to prepare for conversational search
The practical work for marketers is to build content that answers the question behind the question. Instead of targeting only individual keywords, teams should map the full decision journey a user goes through, then create clear, structured content that AI systems can understand and cite. That means investing in well-organised FAQs, authoritative explainers and unique insights that stand out from recycled listicles.
It also means monitoring how your brand appears inside AI Mode responses and adjusting your content when the AI surfaces a competitor or misses your category entirely. The campaign may be local to India, but the behaviour it reflects is global.
