Dubai International’s Terminal 3 has a new premium media moment. Emirates, Dubai Airports and JCDecaux have switched on the VIP Arrivals Digital Gate in the Emirates Chauffeur Service area, giving advertisers access to First and Business Class passengers just before they leave the airport.

The installation pairs two landscape screens of 12 square metres each with two double-sided digital columns of 4.8 square metres each, creating six digital advertising faces. The partners say the platform is aimed at luxury and premium brands that want a low-clutter setting at a premium touchpoint.

Why an arrivals gate is different

Most airport advertising is built on volume: long concourses, heavy footfall and short dwell times. This gate is built on concentration. It sits in a dedicated Chauffeur Service area, which means the audience is specific and there is far less visual competition for a brand message.

Boutros Boutros, Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand at Emirates Group, said the installation adds a digital element to the airline’s dedicated Chauffeur Service area and gives selected brands an opportunity to reach its customers. That matters because it extends the premium brand moment from the cabin and lounge to the final ground-transport touchpoint.

What the platform includes

  • Two 12-square-metre landscape screens
  • Two double-sided digital columns measuring 4.8 square metres each
  • Six digital advertising faces in total
  • Access to Emirates First and Business Class passengers using the Chauffeur Service

Eugene Barry, Chief Commercial Officer at Dubai Airports, placed the launch within the airport’s wider service experience.

“We are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for our guests across every touchpoint. The VIP Arrivals Digital Gate at Terminal 3 enhances our arrivals environment with a smart digital platform that complements our premium service offering, and reflects DXB’s position as a leading platform for luxury travel and innovation.”

Martin Sabbagh, CEO at JCDecaux Middle East & Africa, said the combination of an exclusive location, a highly affluent audience and state-of-the-art digital formats gives brands a unique platform for campaigns at one of the most premium parts of the passenger journey.

What it means for marketers

For luxury and premium brands, the launch is a reminder that context can be as valuable as reach. A small set of screens in a private arrivals area will not deliver the largest impressions on the airport estate, but the audience is defined and already in a premium frame of mind. That is a strong argument for longer brand messages, concierge-led offers and creative that feels like part of the travel experience rather than an ad break.

The move also shows how airport media is becoming more segmented. Advertisers no longer have to settle for one broad airport-wide buy; they can choose the moment, the passenger segment and the mood they want to own.

A practical lens

If you are planning a premium campaign, start with the traveller’s mental state. The placement targets passengers as their journey shifts from flight to ground transport, so a calm arrivals context can support longer messages and softer conversion asks, while a busy departures concourse may be better for short, high-frequency exposure.

Checklist: define the passenger segment, pick the touchpoint that matches its mindset, and design creative that continues the travel context instead of interrupting it. A focused high-value placement can do a lot of work even without enormous reach.
