Cheil India has named Geetika Chadha as Associate Vice President – Social & Influencer Marketing for its Samsung business. Chadha will lead social media and influencer marketing for the brand, bringing nearly two decades of experience across integrated marketing, brand solutions, content-to-commerce and influencer marketing.

She moves to Cheil India from Reckitt, where she most recently led digital creative transformation for its health portfolio. Before that, she spent close to ten years at Mindshare leading the North India Content+ business, and held earlier roles at Havas Worldwide, Iris Worldwide and Webchutney.

A brand-side hire for an agency-side job

Cheil’s choice is notable because Chadha arrives with both agency and advertiser experience. That dual lens matters when clients want influencer programmes that are integrated with wider marketing, not run as a silo of one-off posts.

Cheil SWA Group COO Kumar Awanish said the appointment comes as “creator-first storytelling is moving the needle for brand trust and engagement.” He added that brands need to “stop interrupting and start entertaining” through authentic influence.

From awareness to accountability

Chadha described the shift in influencer marketing as a move from an “awareness-led channel to a strategic business driver.” Brands, she said, increasingly expect measurable outcomes across the consumer journey, and the creator economy is earning a more defined place in marketing investments.

That is the real significance of this move. It is not just a senior hire for one account. It is a structural bet that social and influencer work should be held to the same performance standards as search, programmatic or e-commerce.

What marketers should watch

  • Will Cheil’s Samsung work shift toward integrated creator-led campaigns rather than standalone influencer activations?
  • Will measurement follow the full funnel—awareness, consideration, conversion and retention?
  • Can a team built around content-to-commerce turn creator content into attributable sales?

For marketing teams, the practical takeaway is to rethink creator briefs around outcomes. Start by defining the job the creator is hired to do, then choose creators for that job, and agree on the metric that proves it worked.

A simple framework that fits this story: Role, Reach, Result. Name the role the creator plays in the consumer journey, confirm the reach is credible for that audience, and fix the result you will measure before the campaign goes live.

The appointment gives Cheil a leader with the experience to build that kind of integrated offer. The next year will show whether the model delivers the business impact both the agency and the brand are talking about.
