The India Today Group is reorganising its luxury and lifestyle titles into a single consolidated business unit, with India Today Spice joining an existing portfolio that includes Cosmopolitan India, Harper’s Bazaar India, Hello! India and Brides Today.

What is changing

Sakshi Kohli, who already oversees the four existing luxury and lifestyle brands, has been elevated to CEO – Luxury and Lifestyle Business. In the expanded structure, she will lead the business across all five publications.

Ruchika Mehta, currently Editor of Hello! India and Brides Today, adds the editorship of India Today Spice. On the commercial side, Kamalinee Chatterjee, Vice President – Sales, will now handle sales for India Today Spice and lead sales across the entire five-brand portfolio.

The announcement signals a tighter alignment of editorial, brand and commercial operations under one leadership team.

Why the consolidation matters

The group said the luxury and lifestyle business has grown significantly in recent years, with new intellectual properties, wider commercial opportunities and increased revenue contribution across print and digital. The expanded structure is positioned to build on that momentum rather than simply manage existing titles.

The move also fits a wider publishing pattern: media owners are bundling premium audiences across print and digital to give advertisers larger, more coherent buys. Rather than selling individual titles, the group can pitch a single luxury and lifestyle audience across multiple formats and IP-led properties.

  • One leadership team can coordinate editorial calendars and branded content more efficiently.
  • Advertisers get a broader high-intent audience across fashion, beauty, weddings, food and premium lifestyle.
  • The group can cross-leverage events, IPs and digital inventory without duplicating sales effort.
  • India Today Spice gains access to the luxury portfolio’s commercial relationships and editorial ecosystem.

What marketers can watch for

For media planners and luxury brand marketers, consolidated portfolios often mean simplified negotiations, but also a need to audit where budgets actually reach distinct audiences. A unified sales pitch can mask overlap, so it is worth asking for audience duplication data and platform-level performance before shifting budgets.

A useful lens is the “multi-platform premium audience” framework: evaluate reach, frequency, context and brand safety across print, digital and live IPs, not just the combined impression number. The India Today restructuring gives the group a cleaner story to tell on all four fronts.
