Cheil India has appointed Geetika Chadha as Associate Vice President – Social & Influencer Marketing for its Samsung business, the agency announced on 27 October. Chadha takes charge of the account’s social and influencer marketing mandate, bringing nearly two decades of experience across integrated marketing, brand solutions, content-to-commerce and influencer strategy.
Chadha joins from Reckitt, where she served as Content Strategist and Creative Studio Lead from March 2023 to September 2026, overseeing digital creative for the health portfolio. Earlier, she spent close to ten years at Mindshare, including roles as Partner and Senior Director – Content+, leading branded content and digital strategy for PepsiCo’s food and beverage brands. Her background also includes leading Nokia’s digital account at Havas Worldwide and stints at Iris Worldwide and Webchutney.
Why this hire matters
The appointment is more than a new name on the agency roster. It reflects how senior social and influencer roles are being structured around business outcomes rather than visibility alone. Kumar Awanish, Group COO at Cheil SWA, said Chadha brings “the perfect blend of creative acumen and business strategy” to help the agency build a full-funnel marketing powerhouse.
Chadha framed the shift directly: influencer marketing has moved from “an awareness-led channel to a strategic business driver,” and brands increasingly expect measurable outcomes across the consumer journey. For a client as large as Samsung, that means creator-led work will need to connect culture, commerce and business impact.
For agencies, the move also shows how a flagship client relationship can shape specialist hiring. By placing a dedicated social leader inside the Samsung business, Cheil is betting that creator-led commerce can be a differentiator, not a bolt-on.
What marketers should do about it
The lesson for marketing teams is practical: the influencer brief you wrote last year may not be fit for purpose. Here are three ways to catch up.
- Write briefs around business metrics. Define success in terms of traffic, sign-ups or sales contribution, not just impressions and engagement rate.
- Connect creator content to purchase paths. Use trackable links, promo codes or product feeds so influencer activity can be attributed to outcomes.
- Break channel silos. Plan social, creative and media together so creator-led campaigns work across the full funnel.
The outlook
For Cheil and Samsung, Chadha’s immediate task is to turn social and influencer activity into a sharper performance lever. For the wider market, expect more agencies to appoint senior creator leads with commerce remits as influencer marketing earns a more defined place in budgets and measurement frameworks.
