Hoymiles has elevated Monika Shekhar to Deputy General Manager – Marketing for its India operations. The move is effective October 2026, and it puts a familiar internal leader in charge of brand strategy as the company widens its clean-energy portfolio.
Shekhar joined Hoymiles in December 2024 as Assistant General Manager – Marketing. In her expanded role, she will continue to focus on positioning Hoymiles as a “One Stop Solar & Storage Solution” in India, with responsibilities spanning strategy, brand building and partner communication.
“Taking a step forward with the same hunger,” Shekhar said while thanking the Hoymiles management and team for the recognition.
From single product to a fuller portfolio
The promotion arrives as Hoymiles moves beyond its established microinverter business. The company now offers hybrid inverters, string inverters, battery energy storage systems and power conversion systems for residential, commercial & industrial and utility-scale applications.
That portfolio shift is the useful context for marketers. A brand adding multiple product lines needs more than a bigger media budget; it needs a simpler solution story, sharper partner communication and a brand architecture that keeps the portfolio easy to navigate.
What the marketing brief signals
- Shekhar joined Hoymiles in December 2024 and moves up from Assistant General Manager – Marketing.
- The Deputy General Manager role is effective from October 2026.
- Her brief includes strategy, brand building and partner communication for India.
- Hoymiles is expanding distribution and service networks alongside the product push.
The company says hundreds of megawatts of its solutions have been deployed in India’s solar and storage sector. For a marketing leader, that installed base is also a channel story: existing customers, installers and distributors need consistent messaging as the brand stretches across more categories.
The India clean-energy marketing moment
Shekhar’s previous experience gives the appointment category depth. Before Hoymiles, she spent more than three years at GoodWe Technologies, including a stint as Marketing Manager from July 2021 to November 2024. She also led marketing communications at Dharma Life, an NGO, between July 2020 and July 2021.
For marketing students and professionals watching India’s energy transition, the lesson is straightforward. When a company scales from a specialist product to a full solutions stack, the marketing function has to scale from product promotion to outcome-led storytelling and channel enablement.
What to do
For teams in a similar position, start with the customer’s buying question, not the product list. Map each inverter and storage product to a clear job: residential self-consumption, C&I peak management, utility-scale reliability. Then give channel partners one consistent narrative to sell.
Internal promotions like this one also signal that category knowledge and partner trust matter as much as external hires. Rewarding marketers who already understand the product roadmap can speed up a repositioning.
