Omnicom Media India has claimed the top spot in RECMA’s Network Diagnostics Report 2026 with just under 35% qualitative share. The network also leads in Activity Volume and Billings with approximately 30% industry share, reinforcing its position in the Indian media market.

Three of the six highest-ranked media agencies in India belong to Omnicom Media Group: PHD, Initiative and OMD. Lodestar UM received a Good rating. PHD and OMD recorded the highest Vitality scores among the ranked agencies, while PHD led the market in year-on-year client portfolio growth.

What the RECMA diagnostics actually measure

The bi-annual report evaluates approximately 700 agencies across 45 markets using 19 key performance indicators. Rather than relying only on billings and new business wins, RECMA scores vitality and structure: client portfolio and relationship stability, digital, data and content resources, and consistency across geographies.

At the Asia Pacific level, OMD and PHD secured first and third positions respectively. OMD maintained its leadership in Asia Pacific and Southeast Asia for the third consecutive report and recorded a 10.2% qualitative share in the region. Omnicom Media Group retained its position as the best-performing global media group for the second consecutive report, with No. 1 rankings across Asia Pacific, North America, EMEA and LATAM.

Why qualitative share matters for marketers

For advertisers, this ranking is a reminder that an agency’s pitch win column is only part of the picture. A high qualitative share signals stability, digital and data depth, and the ability to hold client relationships over time.

  • Compare client retention and portfolio growth before shortlisting an agency.
  • Ask for evidence of digital, data and commerce capabilities beyond media buying.
  • Use qualitative rankings as a risk filter, then validate with client references.

This matters particularly in fragmented media markets, where the ability to connect data, content and commerce resources across a single account can be more valuable than a low media rate.

The wins behind the momentum

RECMA said Omnicom Media “is emerging as the new industry powerhouse” and noted that its agencies are benefiting from data and digital integration. The network’s 2026 wins and retentions have crossed US$9 billion in billings, which the company says is higher than any other holding company.

Recent India wins named in the report include Netflix, AMFI, OpenAI, Adidas, Dr. Reddy’s, Xiaomi and Amazon Music.

Kartik Sharma, CEO, Omnicom Media India, said the ambition is to “help clients turn the growing complexity of the Indian media landscape into a competitive advantage” by connecting talent, technology, data and commerce in one organisation.

For marketing teams, the practical takeaway is to treat rankings as a prompt to evaluate agency partners on vitality and structure, not just on quarterly cost or new business energy. With specialist data and digital units now integrated, the group is making the case that consolidation can strengthen qualitative performance.
