Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cresta, an AI customer support company whose voice agents complete customer calls end-to-end. The same platform provides human representatives with real-time guidance and analyzes conversations, but Salesforce did not disclose the deal price.

The acquisition extends Salesforce’s Agentforce push by adding a live voice layer: AI that can hear the call, act on it, and connect the outcome to the customer record already inside Salesforce.

What Cresta adds to the stack

Cresta’s platform is built around three capabilities:

  • Voice agents that handle customer calls end-to-end
  • Real-time coaching for human representatives during a call
  • Conversation analysis that captures what is happening in the interaction

Salesforce says it plans to connect Cresta’s understanding of customer conversations with the customer history and systems already sitting in Salesforce. In practice, the AI can understand the conversation as it happens, guide the employee, handle the interaction itself, and then connect what happened to the customer record.

Why it matters for marketing and CX teams

Voice has long been a disconnected touchpoint in customer experience. Calls produce transcripts and tickets, but the insight often stops there. This deal points to a different model, one where live conversation becomes first-party CRM data rather than an unstructured log.

For marketing teams, that means richer service data can feed personalization, churn prediction and next-best-action programs. For service leaders, it means fewer manual notes and a clearer handoff between AI and human agents.

Cresta will continue to support the contact-center and telephony platforms customers already use after the deal closes. That matters for companies that do not want their phone stack tied completely to Salesforce, although the eventual depth and cost of those integrations remain to be seen.

The bigger M&A signal

Cresta is Salesforce’s third acquisition announcement in roughly two weeks, following agreements for Braze and logistics software company Rune Technologies. The Cresta deal is expected to close in Salesforce’s first quarter of fiscal 2028, subject to regulatory approval and other customary conditions.

What to do now

For marketing and service leaders, the practical move is to map the conversation-to-record loop before the market shifts further. List every customer conversation channel, identify where outcomes are logged in CRM, and mark the moments where a human agent must take over. Then define what data an AI agent is allowed to write back to the customer record.

That small audit turns a headline acquisition into a useful planning exercise: you can see where your voice stack is already connected, where it is not, and what a Salesforce-style AI layer would change.
