Offline retail is quietly becoming one of India’s most interesting martech battlegrounds — and jewellery is at the centre of it. Hyderabad-based Zithara.AI, an AI-native customer engagement platform built for physical retailers, has announced a partnership with Tyaani Jewellery by Karan Johar to power more personalised, data-led customer experiences across the brand’s stores.

Under the tie-up, Tyaani will use Zithara.AI’s AI-native CRM platform to organise customer information, read engagement patterns and build a more connected view of how shoppers interact with the brand across touchpoints.

What the partnership actually does

The stated goal is to move engagement beyond the single transaction. Instead of one-off billing data sitting in a POS system, the platform is meant to help Tyaani’s retail teams act on customer insight — following up with prospects who walked in but didn’t buy, re-engaging past purchasers, and tailoring communication to individual preferences and purchase history.

The expected outcomes, per the companies: better conversion, stronger retention, and higher customer lifetime value.

Manraj Singh, Chief Marketing Officer at Tyaani Jewellery, framed the category logic simply, noting that jewellery is “a highly personal category” and that the brand-customer relationship extends well past a single purchase. As expectations shift, he said, understanding preferences and interactions better is what allows the brand to create more meaningful experiences.

Why jewellery is a natural fit for AI-led CRM

Few categories have a customer profile as data-rich — and as underused — as jewellery. Purchase cycles are long, ticket sizes are high, occasions are predictable (weddings, anniversaries, festive buying), and preference signals are strong. Yet much of Indian jewellery retail still runs on relationship memory held by individual sales staff rather than a system of record.

That is the gap Zithara.AI is pitching into. Co-founder Varun Kashyap said the platform is designed to help retailers strengthen relationships across the customer journey rather than confine engagement to the point of purchase. Co-founder Sridevi Reddy added that AI-native capabilities let retailers shift from broad-based communication to experiences aligned to individual behaviour and purchase journeys.

Why it matters for marketers

This is a small announcement with a big signal attached: high-consideration offline retail is being rewired around first-party data. For marketers in jewellery, auto, furniture, eyewear or premium apparel, the implications are worth noting.

  • Store data is media data. Walk-in, enquiry and purchase records are the highest-intent audience a brand owns — and the cheapest to activate.
  • Non-buyers are the bigger prize. In high-ticket categories, most footfall doesn’t convert on day one. A structured follow-up loop often beats more top-of-funnel spend.
  • Occasion triggers beat broadcast blasts. Anniversaries, festivals and past-purchase anniversaries make for far sharper campaign windows than calendar-wide sales.
  • Sales staff are the last mile. Insight that doesn’t reach the shop floor in a usable form doesn’t change revenue.
  • Celebrity-led brands need retention muscle. Founder or star equity drives awareness; repeat purchase is a CRM job.

A quick framework to borrow

If you’re evaluating a similar move, work backwards through four questions: Capture — do we reliably record every walk-in, not just every bill? Unify — is that data joined across stores, WhatsApp and digital? Act — who owns the follow-up, and within what time window? Measure — are we tracking repeat rate and lifetime value, not just campaign clicks? Most retail CRM projects fail at step one and three, not at the technology layer.

For Tyaani, a brand that has built a distinctive contemporary identity in a crowded market, the bet is that intelligence and personalisation can convert brand affinity into repeat business. For the wider martech market, it’s another datapoint that India’s next wave of CRM growth may come from stores, not screens.
