Hilti India has launched a new brand film, REWIND, to mark National Engineers’ Day and shift attention from finished infrastructure projects to the people who imagine them into existence.
The construction solutions provider says the film is built around the thought “Everything that exists today, once did not exist.” It runs backwards through the creation of buildings, bridges, tunnels, airports, highways and other infrastructure, focusing on the ideas, calculations, challenges and decisions that come before a completed structure.
Why the campaign takes a reverse view
Rather than showcasing tools or product performance, Hilti India uses REWIND to celebrate engineers as problem solvers. The reverse narrative turns familiar infrastructure landmarks into visible results of unseen work: planning, design, risk management and on-ground expertise.
For marketing professionals, this is a useful reminder that B2B brand storytelling does not need to lead with specifications. An audience of engineers and construction partners is more likely to respond to recognition of their role in nation-building than to another product feature list.
Engineers as the central character
The film is timed for National Engineers’ Day, observed on September 15 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. Hilti India says the occasion aligns with its work alongside engineers building infrastructure across the country.
Jayant Kumar, General Manager and Managing Director, Hilti India, said:
“Every structure begins long before construction starts. It begins with an idea, a challenge to solve, or a possibility that someone chooses to pursue. Through REWIND, we wanted to celebrate the engineers whose vision and expertise turn those possibilities into reality.”
The campaign links this message to India’s ongoing infrastructure expansion across highways, metro systems, airports, industrial corridors and urban development projects under the broader vision of Viksit Bharat.
What marketers can take away
- People-first storytelling: The film makes engineers the hero instead of the product, which can build stronger emotional recall in a crowded B2B category.
- Occasion-led relevance: Tying the campaign to National Engineers’ Day gives it a clear cultural hook and a reason to launch now.
- Regional depth: The film is produced in Hindi with English subtitles and will also be released in Marathi, Bengali, Tamil and Malayalam, helping the message travel beyond metro audiences.
- Consistent purpose: The closing thought, “You, Us, and Hilti,” reinforces partnership while staying close to the company’s “Making Construction Better” purpose.
REWIND is available across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. The multilingual release is notable for a brand targeting India’s construction ecosystem, where regional language communication can improve relevance and shareability among site engineers, contractors and students.
For marketing teams, the campaign offers a compact framework: identify the people behind the outcome, reverse the story from result to origin, and match the message to a moment the audience already values.
