Wipro has a new marketing leader for its India business. Kuldeep Sehrawat has taken charge as director and head of marketing for India, moving from IBM India and South Asia, where he held multiple marketing leadership roles built around growth, ecosystem development and demand generation.
His most recent IBM remit was head of marketing for growth and ecosystem, channel, for India and South Asia. That role put him in charge of pipeline development, revenue growth and market expansion through partner-led initiatives, demand generation and integrated marketing campaigns. Across IBM, his work also covered ecosystem marketing and performance marketing, including digital campaigns, paid media, content, events and partner marketing.
From IBM to Wipro: a B2B marketing track record
Before IBM, Sehrawat was national head of ET CIO and ET Edge IT and Fintech industry CXO programmes at Times Internet. He has also held roles at Wizcraft International Entertainment, Cheil India, Showcraft Marketing Services and Solutions-Digitas Integrated Marketing Services.
At Cheil India, where he worked on Samsung India’s enterprise business, his responsibilities included brand activation, integrated campaigns, product launches, trade shows, partner programmes and multi-city marketing initiatives. That mix of events, channel work and performance marketing now travels with him into Wipro.
Why the move matters
This is not just another leadership announcement. Wipro’s India marketing role sits at the intersection of a large enterprise brand and a fast-growing domestic market. Sehrawat’s selection points to where B2B marketing is heading: marketing leaders are increasingly expected to show pipeline influence, manage revenue-adjacent metrics and drive growth through partner ecosystems rather than broadcast brand campaigns alone.
At the centre of the appointment is a concept many enterprise marketers now discuss: ecosystem marketing. Instead of marketing alone, a brand activates partners, channels and alliances to create demand and share the funnel. Sehrawat’s IBM role was built around this model, making the Wipro move a clear statement of intent.
Three signals stand out:
- Partner ecosystems as growth engines: Sehrawat’s channel and ecosystem remit suggests Wipro wants marketing to amplify partner-led demand, not just direct customer acquisition.
- Performance accountability: His performance marketing and demand generation background reflects a shift toward measurable pipeline and revenue outcomes in B2B roles.
- Integrated execution: A career spanning digital, paid media, content, events and partner programmes points to the full-funnel, multi-channel playbook expected from modern marketing leadership.
What marketing teams can borrow
For B2B marketers, the playbook is clear: treat channel partners as demand drivers, tie campaigns to revenue metrics, and build integrated programmes that run across formats.
- Map partner co-marketing opportunities early, and treat them as demand engines rather than afterthoughts.
- Align campaigns to pipeline and revenue metrics, not just reach and engagement.
- Connect digital, content, paid media and events into one integrated client acquisition system.
- Use product launches and partner programmes as moments of expansion, especially in multi-city markets.
India’s enterprise technology market has become fiercely competitive, and marketing organisations are being asked to do more than build brand. The ability to create demand through partners, run multi-city activations and prove performance is now table stakes. For marketing students and early-career professionals, the move is also a useful career signal: roles that combine ecosystem development, performance marketing and event-led demand generation are increasingly the route to senior marketing leadership.
