Healthcare marketing just got an awards night that puts humans, rather than models, at the center.

What happened

Doceree, an AI-powered healthcare marketing platform, hosted its inaugural AI Health 25 at One World Observatory in New York City on Wednesday evening. Founder and CEO Harshit Jain welcomed guests on the 102nd floor, arguing the venue had to be “higher than the AI expectations in this room.”

The Doceree editorial team selected 25 honorees across marketing, pharmaceutical and medical technology roles. The event site frames the intent bluntly: “We’re not awarding AI. We’re naming the people who are using it to change how medicine gets made, marketed, and delivered.”

Who made the list

Honorees cut across brands, agencies, providers and health-tech firms. They include:

  • Deirdre Diener, head of AI powered marketing at Johnson & Johnson
  • Christina Kim, Chief Strategy and Analytics Officer at Omnicom Health
  • Girish Nadkarni, Chief AI Officer at Mount Sinai Health System
  • Mangesh Patil, Chief AI Officer at HCA Healthcare
  • Mahi Rayasam, svp and information officer, clinical and non-clinical medicine development and commercial platforms at Eli Lilly and Company
  • Eric Trepanier, Chief HCP Officer at Publicis Health Media
  • Tala Fakhouri, Chief AI and Regulatory Strategy Officer at Parexel
  • Vikram Singh, vice president, global head of commercial IT, and enterprise AI COE at Gilead Sciences
  • Brian Peterson, Chief Technology and AI Officer at Real Chemistry
  • Alex Villalobos, director of AI transformation at Boehringer Ingelheim

Other honorees came from Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Genentech, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, EVERSANA, CMI Media Group, Fingerpaint, Avalere Health, ViralGains, Glass Health, SOLVE(D) and Deerfield.

Why it matters

For marketers, the list is a useful organizational benchmark. Healthcare is among the most regulated sectors in advertising, so AI roles there tend to develop alongside compliance, privacy and measurement, not after them. The recurring titles—chief AI officer, chief strategy and analytics officer, head of AI powered marketing—show AI moving from a pilot activity to a named leadership function.

That shift matters beyond healthcare. When organizations create explicit AI owners in marketing and media rather than leaving experimentation inside IT, they make adoption accountable to customer and business outcomes.

What to do about it

Marketing teams can borrow the same focus without hosting an awards night. Start by identifying who currently owns AI initiatives. Then make that ownership visible, tie recognition to measured results and benchmark how regulated industries structure AI roles.

  • Name the people who own AI initiatives, not just the tools.
  • Look at healthcare’s mix of AI, data and regulatory roles for your own org chart.
  • Reward business outcomes, not model launches.

That is the real signal from an evening above Manhattan.
