Philips has elevated Pushpa V to Consumer Marketing Leader for India, giving her charge of marketing for the men’s grooming, beauty, and Philips Avent portfolios.
The appointment was shared on LinkedIn, where Pushpa V described the move as a “new chapter” at Philips. She thanked Smit Shukla and Vidyut Kaul for the opportunity, acknowledged Satya Keerthy RA for onboarding and mentorship, and gave a shout-out to Ritu for a smooth transition.
A wider consumer remit
The role brings three distinct consumer businesses under one marketing leader. Men’s grooming and beauty sit in highly competitive, trend-driven categories, while Philips Avent operates in the mother-and-baby segment, where trust, education and healthcare credibility shape purchase decisions.
For Philips, the elevation appears to signal a desire for more connected brand strategy across these portfolios—especially in a market where digital commerce, quick commerce and content-led discovery are reshaping consumer journeys.
What Pushpa V brings
Pushpa V is not new to Philips. She previously served as Director – Business Impact @ Digital for Beauty & Men’s Grooming, and as Head of Marketing for the company’s Personal Health division. That internal track record gives her context on both the brands and the business levers.
Her earlier career spans the full marketing value chain:
- D2C and digital growth: Category Head at Mosaic Wellness, where she led Little Joys and owned acquisition, retention, digital marketing and P&L.
- Beauty and personal care category depth: Associate Director, Category at Purplle.com and General Manager-Sales & Marketing at The Pink Foundry.
- E-commerce and modern trade: Roles at Coty across luxury beauty, e-commerce for Southeast Asia and India, and modern trade in Singapore.
- Cross-market marketing: Marketing Lead for Southeast Asia at Bacardi, covering Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia.
- Shopper and trade marketing foundation: Senior roles at L’Oréal and early category development work at ITC.
Why this matters for marketing professionals
The move is a useful case study in the kind of leadership profile consumer brands are now rewarding. Pushpa V’s path combines traditional brand management with digital commerce, category P&L and regional exposure.
For marketers building a similar trajectory, the signal is clear: it is no longer enough to be strong only in brand or only in performance. The most competitive leaders can connect creative strategy, retention economics and retail execution in one operating view.
One lens to apply is the T-shaped marketer model: broad commercial fluency across channels and functions, with deep expertise in one or two areas such as beauty category management or D2C growth. Pushpa V’s career maps closely to this shape.
The next test will be execution. Watch for whether Philips India uses this unified marketing mandate to sharpen product storytelling, strengthen e-commerce conversion, and build more consistent brand experiences across men’s grooming, beauty and mother-and-baby audiences.
