Krea8, a six-month-old independent creative agency, has built the launch communication for Lava Virat on Flipkart around a simple challenge: remove the doubt that stops buyers from considering the brand. The campaign line, “Shaq Hatao, Lava Uthao,” puts consumer hesitation front and centre instead of leaning on the usual spec sheets and price comparisons.
The Hindi phrase translates loosely to “remove the doubt, pick up Lava.” The campaign was timed with the smartphone’s launch on Flipkart, connecting the message directly to the purchase environment. According to Krea8, Lava Virat sold out its full stock on the first day of launch.
That is an early commercial signal, though it should be read alongside factors such as product, pricing, distribution and demand.
Turning hesitation into the creative brief
Most smartphone launch campaigns lead with features, processors, camera sensors and price cuts. Krea8 took a different path by asking what could prevent someone from considering Lava in the first place.
The answer, according to the agency, was perception. So the campaign names the barrier directly, using “Shaq Hatao, Lava Uthao” to acknowledge doubt and push shoppers toward consideration and action.
For Krea8, this is a deliberate model. The agency has only been operating for six months, but its founding team brings experience from more than 70 smartphone releases over the past five years. Lava Virat is one of the first independent campaigns where that category experience is being applied under the new agency.
Kirti Doshi, founder and MD of Krea8, said the agency wants to avoid simply adding to the noise. “We started with a real consumer barrier, turned that hesitation into a creative idea,” Doshi said, adding that the aim is work that is memorable enough to enter culture and sharp enough to move perception and business.
What marketers can take away
The campaign is a useful reminder that strong launch communication does not have to begin with product advantages. It can begin with the reason a buyer hesitates.
Marketers planning similar launches can consider a short checklist:
- Identify the main purchase objection before writing the creative brief.
- Make the objection visible in the campaign rather than avoiding it.
- Connect the message to a commerce moment where action is easy.
- Treat first-day sell-out data as a directional signal, not isolated proof.
Why this matters for the smartphone market
India’s smartphone market is crowded, and established brand perceptions often decide a purchase before a consumer compares features. If a challenger brand can convert even a slice of hesitant shoppers, that can matter more than winning a specification race. By making doubt the creative territory, Krea8 and Lava are attempting to widen the consideration set.
For marketing professionals, the takeaway is not just about a catchy line. It is about treating consumer hesitation as a creative asset—and then placing that message close to the point of sale. The early sell-out offers an encouraging first chapter, though longer-term performance will determine whether the approach builds durable brand preference.
