WAULT, an access and activation platform for India’s sports and active-lifestyle ecosystem, has launched with a network of nearly 2,000 sports and fitness facilities nationwide.

Founded by Amit Relan and Smita Jadhav, the platform is built to solve a familiar problem for brand teams: reaching sports and fitness communities usually means negotiating separately with venues across many locations and formats.

What WAULT brings to a brand plan

The platform aggregates this inventory under a single access and activation framework. That means a brand can plan multi-venue and multi-city campaigns through one partnership instead of managing many local relationships.

The network spans established and emerging formats, including:

  • Football, cricket and tennis
  • Gyms, Pilates and yoga
  • Padel and pickleball

WAULT’s coverage includes metro markets such as Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, and Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities including Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Goa and Pune. The platform plans to bring more venues on board across India.

Why the timing suits brands

The launch lands as India’s fitness and active-lifestyle economy expands. According to a Deloitte and Health & Fitness Association report cited in the announcement, the market is projected to grow from ₹16,200 crore in 2024 to ₹37,700 crore by 2030.

Participation is still low, which is the opportunity. India had approximately 12.3 million fitness-facility members in 2024, and membership penetration stood at just 0.8%. That number is projected to reach 23.2 million by 2030.

Amit Relan, co-founder of WAULT and WOOT Factor, points to “the gap between its potential and its current level of participation” as the most interesting part of the market. For brands, that gap is where trial, sampling and community activity can happen.

What this means for your activation mix

WAULT is designed for several campaign jobs: brand awareness, product trials, community building, lead generation, consumer engagement and sponsorships. Because it works across multiple cities and formats, it is an option for marketers who want a consistent presence in active-lifestyle environments without stitching together vendors.

The early use case is clear for consumer brands in sports drinks, athleisure, fitness tech and FMCG, but service brands building community can also use multi-venue trials. The platform’s objectives list is broad enough to move it beyond event sponsorships into measurable lead generation.

For marketing and media teams, the launch is a prompt to treat fitness venues as more than a media afterthought. A gym floor, a pickleball court or a yoga studio can be a trial environment and a media surface at the same time. Watch how the network grows in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where format supply is often thinner but demand is rising.
